Kenneth Robertson

President

Kenneth Robertson started his real estate career at the age of 19, while still attending college and holding part-time jobs. Ken’s first deals were in residential real estate, planting the seeds of experience, hard work and tenacity which have become hallmarks of his business success today.

Ken is a talented deal maker and the creative force behind all business dealings of TR Realty Partners. As president of TR Realty Partners, Ken works with a variety of repeat partners and investors to expand the company’s real estate holdings. His experience in a wide range of real estate project types and business savvy, provide a keen eye for identifying value-creation strategies on all company projects.

Ken’s primary focus is the evaluation of new projects, creation of value-add strategies and leading consulting teams put in place to execute unique business plans for each new property. Ken routinely evaluates projects throughout Southern California, with experience in Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. Additionally, Ken oversees ongoing asset management of TR Realty Partners’ operating projects.

In 2001, Ken started overseeing TR Realty Partner's various high-visibility retail development projects throughout Southern California. Retail projects included shopping centers, restaurants, street retail, out-parcels and prime gateway properties. With an emphasis on high-quality design and location, the projects cater to many of the nation's largest and most sought after retailers. Ken’s involvement in these projects spanned every facet of the investment and development process including deal sourcing, deal structuring, financial analysis, investor reporting, entitlements, construction, leasing, property management and asset management.

In 2006, TR Realty Partners announced its acquisition of the largest privately-owned health and tennis club in Ventura County, located at the gateway to Simi Valley’s new one million-square-foot regional town center. Ken managed all aspects of operating the 30-year-old private club, which served over 7,000 local members and maintained a 70-person operating staff. In addition to day-to-day management responsibilities, Ken gained approval for highly sensitive long-term property development rights. These developments rights were obtained without impacting the club's ability to operate profitably, while also balancing the demands of a stringent city government as well as vocal community stakeholders. The mall and specifically this site currently represent the City’s highest profile retail location.

Prior to starting TR Realty Partners, Ken was Vice-President with the Southern California office of The Staubach Company. During this time, Ken represented many of America’s largest corporations and private developers, completing transactions valued at more than $500 million and representing over three million square feet of space. Of particular noteworthiness, Ken worked on many of the largest lease and self-development transactions in Southern California including Experian World Headquarters, Costa Mesa ($200M self-development), Nissan Motors ($50M lease) and Powerwave World Headquarters, Santa Ana ($100M rehab).

In addition to his real estate interests, Ken is an avid philanthropist. In partnership with the Santa Ana Unified School District, he founded a successful annual charity event which provides holiday dinners and toys to migrant farm worker families throughout Southern California.

Ken received his bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from California State University, Long Beach. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Born in Northern California, Ken has been a resident of Orange County for more than 25 years, currently living in South Orange County with his wife Laura and their two children Ben and Julia.
